Travel for a company
The same fixed prices, cars and chauffeurs. What changes is how it is paid for: one invoice a month, with each journey attributed to the person and the cost centre that asked for it.
- One invoice a month
- A cost centre on every journey
- The published prices, not a tariff
- Hertsmere Borough Council licence 601
Price a journey
Five classes of car, each with one fixed price that already includes the charges for the route. You choose a car before you pay.
What an account gives you
Four differences, none of them a different price. An account changes the settlement and the record, not the tariff.
- One monthly invoice
- One invoice a month rather than a card charge for every journey.
- Cost centres
- Each booking carries the cost centre that asked for it, so the invoice can be split without anybody reconstructing it from receipts.
- The traveller, named
- An assistant can book on somebody else’s behalf. The updates go to the traveller, the chauffeur is given the traveller as the passenger, and both names are on the record.
- The same prices
- An account is a way of paying, not a different tariff. The published tables are the prices a company pays, and the hourly terms are the same too.
How to open one
By conversation, because the invoicing and the cost centres are worth agreeing rather than guessing at. There is no form for it on this site yet, and we would rather say so than show you one that does not work.
- Call 07887 478594 and tell us roughly how many people travel and how the cost is split.
- We agree with you the name the invoice goes to, the cost centres it carries and who is allowed to book.
- Each booking names the traveller and the cost centre, at the same fixed price anyone else would see.
- At the end of the month, one invoice arrives with every journey already attributed.

What your travel policy will want to know
Licensed by Hertsmere Borough Council as a private hire operator, licence 601.
- Every chauffeur holds a private hire driver licence from Hertsmere Borough Council, which is granted only after an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
- The council requires a medical to the DVLA Group 2 standard, the standard asked of lorry and bus drivers.
- Each driver has passed the council's knowledge test, which is taken in English.
- We re-check every licence at renewal and record who checked it and when.
- Every car holds a current private hire vehicle licence from Hertsmere Borough Council and hire-and-reward insurance.
- Anybody who takes or dispatches a booking is on our staff register with a current basic Disclosure and Barring Service check. That is a condition of our operator licence, not a policy of ours.
- Where a partner operator carries a booking, it holds its own operator licence and both licence numbers are on the record.
- Before the pickup we send you the chauffeur’s first name, their private hire driver licence number, and the car’s registration, make, model and colour.
Our operator licence, our chauffeurs' licences and our cars' licences all come from Hertsmere Borough Council, which is what the law asks for: the three must match. A journey booked with us can then begin or end anywhere in England and Wales, which is why a Hertfordshire licence covers a Heathrow pickup.
How we work with partner operators, and what we record about a traveller.
What people ask
Do companies pay a different rate?
No. An account is a way of paying, not a different tariff: the published prices are the prices. What changes is that the journeys are settled monthly on one invoice and attributed to a traveller and a cost centre.
How do I open an account?
By speaking to us, on 07887 478594. There is no form for it on this site yet, because the invoicing and the cost centres are worth agreeing rather than guessing.
Can an assistant book for somebody else?
Yes, and the updates go to the traveller rather than to the person who booked. Both are on the record, and the chauffeur is given the traveller as the passenger.
Who is driving, and are they licensed?
Every chauffeur holds a current private hire driver licence from Hertsmere Borough Council, and every car holds a current private hire vehicle licence from the same council and hire-and-reward insurance. The operator licence this site trades under is the one at the foot of every page, Hertsmere Borough Council licence 601. Before the pickup you are sent your chauffeur's first name, their driver licence number and the registration of the car.
How do I cancel or change a booking?
Cancel in your account. The refund is worked out from the version of the cancellation policy your booking was made under and shown to you before you confirm anything. To change a booking, use the "Request a change" link on it and we will reply.
